The Felch Feudal System

Actually, ours is more like a reverse feudal system. Back in the middle ages, feudalism was a social system of rights and duties based on land tenure and personal relationships in which land (and to a much lesser degree other sources of income) were held in fief by vassals from lords to whom they owed specific services and with whom they were bound by personal loyalty.

We are going to use traditional titles in proper ranking, but the titles will be earned by the significance of one's contributions to the Felch Family History and Genealogy. Details of the promotion system will be disclosed here, but will remain subject to change by "higher authority." The Aristocracy, a.k.a. Nobility, a.k.a. those with Titles will have access to information that will not be available to lower ranking individuals.

The main site at URL http://www.Felch.org is available to all commoners, vassals, and serfs. People may join the gentry class by simply adding their email address to our mailing list. Further promotions require contributions of data (at least three complete generations of the part of the Felch family tree to which the submitter belongs) or contributions to our Web Site (can be design, content, or financial).

The Felch Feudal System is just for fun. It's a fantasy. It's a game. A game with the secondary objective of encouraging cooperative efforts on the Felch family genealogy. We'll try not to let it get out of hand or deteriorate into Middle Ages like intrigue and open warfare. Peace be with you all! In this system, it is the Nobles who provide the resources for the benefit of the whole group.
